HHMI Faculty Scholar Program

The Faculty Scholar program provides funding and support for faculty from the physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics departments to transform a course they teach. Applications are due March 2nd, 2018, and awards will be made at the end of the Spring semester. Faculty Scholars work to redesign their course with a faculty mentor who has experience in discipline-based education research (DBER). Preliminary planning is carried out in the summer, and the revised course is taught and assessed in the following fall and spring.

Faculty members can apply to the program through two opportunities: (1) Individual Application or (2) Group Application. Group applications are for teams of faculty members reforming a single course as a team. Please see the application materials below for additional information about the expectations and benefits of the program.

Further details are available in the application and by contacting Laird Kramer (Laird.Kramer@fiu.edu) or Clark Brinson (kbrinson@fiu.edu).
